Long-term Sanctuary

L.E.A.R.N. provides sanctuary to many animals who are not candidates for adoption. Reasons for sanctuary may range from complicated medical issues to severe behavioral issues to special permits being required for possession.

L.E.A.R.N. is particularly focused on providing sanctuary to chelonians (tortoises in particular), large lizards (such as tegus and monitors) and large snakes (such as snakes that cannot cross state lines pursuant to the Lacey Act). We will travel as far as we are able to take in the above species.

If you have an animal with a need for sanctuary, please call or text our president at (318) 773-9393.
We have several projects and upgrades planned for the tortoises and other sanctuary critters.
Any donations you might feel led to contribute will certainly be put to good use!
